Lawrence Smith and Nivanka Fonseka present how they are changing the marketing and transaction of tourism in Sri Lanka with their new destination management portal. They speak about the problems identified, the business logic behind the new portal, and the technologies including SilverStripe, VueJS, ReactJS and Material UI they used to solve it.

This talk covers a series of different security tips and tricks that can be easily incorporated into the development of any vanilla SilverStripe application. These recommended practices will protect against common web vulnerabilities and help prevent your application from getting easily hacked.

Derk will guide you through the basics of setting up the development and deployment of a SilverStripe site. This workshop will go through using Vagrant and setting up Buddy.works and deploy to an Upcloud server. With the resulting setup and configuration you should be able to start making a website and host it on Upcloud. During the workshop Derk will explain how and why things are done. And probably some tricks that will make life better. This will use the TwistedBytes Vagrant box, so having Vagrant up and running will be a requirement.
