Call for speakers and workshop hosts!
StripeCon EU will be held from 23rd - 25th September 2020. The tentative schedule idea is to have speakers during the mornings of the three days, and host some workshops in the afternoons (EU time). So mark your calendars, and let us know how we can fit you in as a speaker or workshop host!
Become a speaker!
Are you inspired to share with the community and give a talk? We're excited about all kinds of talks: from lightning talks (short talks from 10 -20 minutes) to full-length talks (up to 45-50 minutes). Examples of lightning talks from previous years can be found here, here and here.
And topics can range from front-end to back-end topics, CMS use/development, or any type of case study (see more on topics below). Consider becoming a speaker! We’d love to hear from you! Become a workshop host!
We're also hoping to have room for digital workshops in the program this year. So what are workshops? Workshops involve working with a smaller group of people and really getting hands-on with your topic, helping users to follow along with you to accomplish something on their own workspaces. Workshops can be geared towards newbie onboarding, advanced users, and anything in between. And topics can range from front-end to back-end topics, CMS use/development, or any type of case study (see more on topics below). Consider hosting a workshop! We’d love to hear from you! Topics of talks/workshops
Topics can cover anything from front- to backend, and can be related directly to Silverstripe or about (web) development in general and of interest to Silverstripe developers.
Topics ranging from front-end web development to front-end CMS development get us excited! Do you know your way around a javascript library (or are you vanilla all the way) and can you show beginners/advanced users a thing or two? Does the React-powered part of the CMS (or even the legacy entwine part) hold no secrets for you and are you willing to give us a hands-on tour? Whether in the form of a workshop or a talk, we'd love to hear about it. Talks about front-end from previous years can be seen here, here and here.
Topics ranging from back-end web development to back-end CMS development and even diving into DevOps territory delight us! From back-end PHP development to deployment to DevOps and everything in between! Have you gone serverless? Headless? Or is there a new “less” that we need to know about? We’d love to hear about it in a talk, or have you show us in a workshop! Back-end development talks from recent years can be seen here, here and here.
And of course: one of our favorite topics is the Silverstripe CMS and framework, in all the various ways that you use it! Are you the perfect candidate to (finally) show us what Campaigns can do? Or are you a power-CMS user and can you demonstrate some great features, new modules, onboard new users, or convince people to go the Silverstripe way? Case studies make us really happy too! Do you have a great way that you used Silverstripe recently and want to share it? Did you try something new in web development and have a foobar experience to share? See some case studies from previous years here, here and here.
And we love surprises: maybe there’s a topic that doesn’t quite fit into the above but you think we’d really enjoy learning about it through a talk or workshop. We enjoyed learning about browser API’s and Alexa skills in previous years!
